HALLOWEEN VACATION 2013
My cat Khan enchanted by the flames in the glass jack-o-lanterns
As a child I remember dressing up for a special Halloween dress up at the elementary school, a couple blocks from where I grew up. There, all the children of the class would line up, single file, and then walk through every classroom. It is one memory which stands out. I remember that a woman dressed up as a witch, with a long pointy nose and green skin and a talk black witches hat and black gown lead the way. She had a broom made of sticks and resembled the wicked witch in Wizard of Oz.
I remember that long ago me and my friends had a Halloween dress up party over at my house. Even my boyfriend, Scott, who later became my husband, was there. We had an apple bobbing contest and listened to music and told some spooky stories outside in the night air. I sure miss the old days when trick or treating was fun and dress up was a real challenge when attempting to come up with a unique costume.

Ever since then my Halloweens, as well as all other holidays has been about this beautiful daughter of mine. Every year she has made my holidays special. This year, we have decorated the house and shared time together watching thrillers and classic horror movies. It's always best to watch when you know you're not alone.
